A lot of questions about the Bible are floating around out there: Isn't it just a collection of myths and moral stories? What makes it different from any other book? Why should I believe
what it says? Can I trust that it's true? Is it really worth staking my life on?
This month's issue of Living in the Active Word aims to answer these questions and many more that you or someone you know might have. Each day, we're going to look at a specific statement in the Bible that points to its absolute authority and total trustworthiness as
God's Word.
In order to do so, we're going to go a bit outside of the lines we typically stay in. Instead of just focusing on what the scriptures say, we'll be comparing their declarations with a healthy dose of historical, scientific, and archeological facts. We're going to put the Bible to the test and see if its claims hold up in the court of objective information. By the time we've finished, we'll see that the book the Christian faith is founded on, the Bible, not only holds up, but sets an unprecedented standard when it comes to accuracy, reliability, and infallibility.
Again, a lot of us have questions about the Bible. But I've learned that when we take the time to inspect it intently and investigate it intelligently, these question marks get turned into marks of exclamation...because its truly amazing how conclusively the facts prove the Bible to be a supernatural book that only God could have authored.
You'll notice this progression from uncertainty to certainty represented by the image on the cover as well as the title: Factuality...for when we examine the facts surrounding the Bible, we come to see the actuality of it being God's true and trustworthy Word to mankind.
Teach them your word, which is truth. John 17:17 (NLT)
Until the whole world hears,
